Overview
Founded in 2008, Concept Joinery is a young, expanding company drawing on over 20 years of combined experience, and a commitment to research and development, to offer a cutting-edge, comprehensive joinery service for Jersey.
Undertaking a wide range of joinery work, we specialise in bespoke projects for private or commercial clients. We manage the project from design through to completion, working closely with the client at all stages of the process.
Client Relationship
Most joinery projects start with a visit to the client to take measurements, discuss design ideas and explain the possibilities for the project at hand. We always aim to establish a good working relationship with the client, ensuring communication is frequent and costings are clear. We provide the client with our best professional advice from start to finish, remaining impartial and honest and clarifying all the details of the work being undertaken. Common projects for us include doors, windows (and frames), screens, staircases, wardbrobes, tables, and bedroom and household furniture in general. We work closely with our manufacturers and suppliers to source the best wood for each individual project, and discuss all aspects of the design and finish with the client. We can provide price work or hourly work to suit the client’s budget and needs.
As part of our close working relationship, often we will invite the client to our workshop to view the work in progress or to discuss design and finish options on the project. More details about our workshop can be viewed on the Workshop and Machinery page.
Quality
Our primary emphasis is always on quality. Put simply, trying to cut corners on bespoke projects is a false economy. Although a little money might be saved in the short term, the quality, appearance and durability of the product will all suffer, often leading to the need for a replacement product a few years down the line. We always help the client to get the best value for money by tailoring the project to their budget and requirements, with no hidden extras or nasty surprises on the final bill.

Meet the Team
Our staff bring a wealth of experience and expertise to each project, and currently comprises:
Lee, Matthew and Michael.
Lee has seventeen years of joinery experience and is a Licentiate of the prestigious Institute of Carpenters (I.O.C.). Before co-founding Concept Joinery, he worked for F. J. De La Haye & Sons in Jersey. Talented and with an eye for fine detail, Lee’s special areas of interest are intricate, creative and bespoke products. He relishes a challenging project that other joiners may have turned down!
Matthew has six years experience in bespoke joinery. A skilled bench joiner and machinist, Matthew specialises in oak work, and has brought his UK training and expertise to Concept Joinery.
Michael is the youngest member of the Concept Joinery team. He brings energy and dynamism to the workshop and is especially interested in ornate designs and individual pieces.
